Directed by Steve Jones and Todd Jones, and produced by Drew Holt, this documentary mini-series debuts Tuesday, July 12 at 7 PM MTN/9 PM E. New episodes will continue to premiere Tuesdays on HBO and available to stream on HBO Max.  

Edge of the Earth follows four groups of elite action-adventure athletes embarking on unprecedented missions around the world. Each episode features a new remote location with a different team diving into the unknown.


These athletes put their lives on the line as they go on expeditions over mountains, rivers, and oceans. In these mentally and physically demanding challenges, they face push their boundaries in ways never experienced before. Edge of the Earth takes you to parts of the world rarely seen, showcasing beautiful and immersive landscapes. The series not only highlights nature’s beauty, but shines a light on climate change and deforestation while celebrating human achievement along the way.


The first episode features snowboarders Jeremy Jones and Elna Hight along with skier Griffin Post in Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park. Kayakers Ben Stookesberry, Nouria Newman, and Erik Boomer head to Llanganates National Park in Ecuador in an endeavor to descend Chalupas River in episode two. In episode three, climbers Emily Harrington and Adrian Ballinger attempt at the first individual free climb ascent of a difficult route on Pik Slesova in Kyrgyzstan. The fourth and final episode will follow surfers Ian Walsh and Grant "Twiggy" Baker chasing waves off the coast of South Africa.
